Attached are some pictures from a farm planted in fair conditions May 7th in eastern Iowa. 8 hours after planting this farm received a 2.5 inch hard rain. The following week it saw temps reach in the upper 90s for 4 days. As shown below are the affects of that hard crust that formed over the top of the seed. You can see some leafing out under the ground and crinkled plants resulting in uneven emergence. Fortunately, a rotary hoe was used on this farm yesterday.
