From Marschner pg 259. “leaf erectness is an important factor affecting light interception in dense plant stands. For a given cultivar, leaf erectness decreases with increasing N supply. Silicon increases leaf erectness and thus to a large extent counteracts the negative effects of high N supply on light interception”. My question to the 365 community, do you evaluate leaf erectness when scouting fields? If so how are you measuring this?
