I am a wheat farmer, have an acidic field with low ph and low calcium levels, is a hard pan field that always underperforms. I was going to lime which I’ve never done, but would I get good results with a humical application this spring? Is there a fertility strategy I should be using like more spoon feeding due to nutrient tie up with the ph level? Will the humical “fix” the ph problem for this crop year and beyond with the added calcium, or should I still be applying lime as well this fall. What is the use rate? The pH is 5.9 according to soil tests and calcium level is at 52% base saturation, magnesium was where it should be.
